Meet Seanna, she is dedicated to guiding families through the funeral process with empathy and professionalism. She completed high school at Horn Lake in 1999 and later pursued further education at Northwest Community College, earning an associates degree in Mortuary Science in 2013. She is Licensed in Tennessee, Mississippi & Arkansas and is a certified crematory operator as well as a notary public. She transitioned from a retail background to the funeral industry, where she found fulfillment in assisting families during their most difficult times. Currently, she is one of the proud owners of Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, committed to providing exceptional service and support.
Meet Dillon, a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, who specializes in providing dignified and compassionate funeral services. With over a decade of experience, he brings expertise and professionalism to every arrangement. As a Certified Crematory Operator, he ensures the highest standards in cremation practices. He holds an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science from Northwest Mississippi Community College in Southaven, MS. He currently resides in Memphis, TN, but is a native of Water Valley, MS. He is a licensed funeral director and licensed embalmer in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, serving families with care and respect. Dillon is also one of the proud owners of Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Meet Traci, a seasoned funeral director and embalmer with more than two decades of experience. She holds an Associate degree from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science from Gannon University. Licensed in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi, Traci is well-equipped to assist you in creating a personalized service that pays tribute to your loved one. Residing in Southaven, she is a proud mother to Abbie and Joy, who attend DeSoto Central schools, and an active member of CityChurch for Olive Branch.
Meet Mindy Justice. Originally from Olive Branch, MS, Mindy joined us in June 2024. After completing her education in Mortuary Science at Northwest Mississippi Community College, Mindy gained valuable experience working at a large funeral home in the greater Memphis area and the Genesis Donor Program for a decade. Recognizing her true calling, Mindy decided to focus her talents in a funeral home setting. Currently serving as our office administrator at Twin Oaks, Mindy is dedicated to continue to obtaining her funeral service license. She resides in Olive Branch with her husband, Kevin, and their two children, Emalee and Laina. Twin Oaks is privileged to have Mindy's expertise, enhancing our commitment to serving families with compassion and care.
Meet Edward Higgs, a dedicated professional with a diverse background. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he has been a resident of Southaven for over two decades. After a successful 30-year career in banking, Edward followed his calling and obtained a degree in Mortuary Science from Southwest Tennessee Community College in 2023. Currently, he is focused on obtaining his funeral service license and fulfilling his lifelong dream of owning a funeral home. Alongside his professional pursuits, Edward also serves as an associate pastor at Miracle Temple in Southaven, MS.
Carl Carter, 70, former owner of Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. Mr. Carter was born December 24, 1936 in Humboldt, TN to the late Harvey Carter and Dolly Daniels. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of the Whitehaven Gourmet Club, and the Horn Lake and Southaven Chambers of Commerce. He was the former president of the DeSoto Optimist Club. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Carter of Horn Lake; one son, Charles B. Carter and his wife, Janet of Hernando, MS; two daughters, Renee Joyner and her husband, Frankie of Southaven and Robin Rutter and her husband, Gene of Horn Lake; two grand-children, Rusty Rutter and Kelsey Bishop Rutter, both of Horn Lake; two step-grandchildren, Crystal and Stephanie McFarlin of Hernando; one brother, Harvey Carter and his wife, Lois of West Memphis, AR; one sister, Nancy Clark and her husband, John of Chesterfield, MO; two nephews of West Memphis, AR; one niece of Chesterfield, MO; two sisters-in-law, Kat Noblin and her husband, Gary of Oakland, TN and Sharon Rose and her husband, Ed of Olive Branch, MS; a host of family and friends and last but not least his four-legged companion, Tres.
Our Memorial Gardens cemetery was established in 1984 by Mr. Carl R. Carter. The funeral home opened in 1991.
