Willie Mae Dowdy, 97, was granted her angel wings on March 26, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 starting at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Home and Memorial Park- South (2545 E Holmes Road Memphis, TN 38118). Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Willie Mae was born on May 20, 1923 in Bruce, Mississippi. She was a faithful member of Horn Lake Baptist. Willie Mae enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved to quilt, garden, do word searches, and complete any type of puzzle on her free time. Once before she was a hairdresser and was very good at what she did. Most of all Willie Mae loved her family with her all. She will truly be missed by her bright smile and warm hugs that many grew to love.
She leaves behind her loving children, Larry Dowdy and Renee Borden (Scott); grandchildren, Kyle Borden (Ashley), Ryan Borden (Katy), Kelley Borden (Micheal), Dawn Harmon, and Christine Dowdy; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Rhyan, Jagger, Presley, Sawyer, Savannah, and Alexis; sister, Julia White, a host of nieces and nephews; and her favorite dog Smoky.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dwight Dowdy; parents, Bee and Birdie White; and 7 siblings.
