William “Jerry” Smallwood, 74, of Hernando, Mississippi passed away on March 31, 2021. Family will be receiving friends on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a service following at 11:00 a.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671). Interment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671). Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry was born on February 4, 1947 in Bruce, Mississippi. He was a member of Longview Point Church in Hernando, MS. His favorite past time was working in his shop on classic cars. Jerry was in many clubs for classic cars, antique tractors, and enjoyed community interests and gatherings with fellow car fans. Some of his accomplishments in life were building two airplanes and restoring classic cars. Jerry was nothing short from a hard worker. He always made time to be with the people he loved and was the type of person that would help anyone. He would do anything for anyone and was always there when you needed him. Jerry’s smile would light up a room, and he will be greatly missed.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Glenda Smallwood; son, Derek Smallwood (Pennie); grandchildren, Madison Smallwood (Forrest Mallory), Mallori Kate Smallwood, Emmi Simmons, Elizabeth Lyles, Rebecca Thompson (Haaken), Trey Lyles, Shaina White, and Kelsey Anderson (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Emma Thompson, Laney Thompson, and Oden Kovatch; brothers, Larry Smallwood and Ricky Smallwood (Lisa); a host of nieces and nephews; and dogs, Murphy and Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Smallwood; parents, L.Q. and Jeanette Smallwood; and sister, Dianne Ussery.
