Virginia Marie Clower, lovingly known as "Jenny," was born on April 1, 1956, in Tupelo, Mississippi. She passed away on March 2, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and nurturing that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Jenny dedicated herself to her career as a teacher's aide at Head Start where she loved working with the children, and later as a limo driver for Harrah's Casino, roles that showcased her loving spirit and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Yet, her true pride and joy came from her family. As a mother to Matt Clower, Stephanie Porter, and Chance Clower, Jenny was a force of nature—tiny but fiery, with a heart that overflowed with love. She was nurturing and cared deeply about her children, always encouraging them to chase their dreams and succeed in all their endeavors. Her pride extended to her role as a grandmother to Brennon Porter, Sutton Porter, Stephen Hacker, and Michael Hacker, illuminating their lives with warmth and affection.
Jenny had a vibrant personality and an infectious smile. She embraced life with a curious and adventurous spirit, often indulging in her passions for swimming, exploring abandoned houses, and going for walks. Her love for being outside was matched only by her enjoyment of simple pleasures—attending yard sales, reading, and watching movies, particularly romantic comedies, Hallmark movies, and Christmas classics. She had an occasional funny streak and a delightful sense of humor that brought laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
Jenny would often fantasize about winning the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes, perhaps daydreaming of how such a windfall could bless her family even more. But it was the memories she created with her children that were truly priceless. Swimming together, enjoying summer days filled with sunshine, and cozy movie nights remained golden threads in the tapestry of her life.
Jenny is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, siblings Mick Johnson, Anne Foster, Dee Travis, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her beloved fur baby, Tink, will also miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Dewitt and Betty (Butler) Kinard, who undoubtedly take comfort in knowing that their daughter was a loving force in the world, and her memory will continue through the lives she touched.
The visitation honoring Virginia Marie Clower will take place on March 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, located at 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671.
