Troy Dean Carmack, Sr., aged 76, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, in Horn Lake, Mississippi, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 4, 1949, in Kennett, Missouri, Troy led a life full of joy, dedicated service, and cherished relationships.

Troy’s career was rooted in his deep faith and calling to serve others. He was on staff at Bethel Baptist Church, where he worked passionately in the Children’s and Bus Ministry. His commitment to nurturing young hearts was a testament to his belief in the power of love and community. A proud graduate of Bible college, he was the first in his family to attain this achievement—a source of pride that he carried throughout his life.

A veteran of the United States military, Troy served with honor in Vietnam and was stationed in Germany and Korea during his remarkable 21-year tenure, retiring as a sergeant first class. His dedication to his country was matched only by his enduring love for his family, whom he treated with utmost care. He was a devoted husband to Margaret "Dian" Carmack, showering her with love and affection, always ensuring that she felt like a queen. As a father, he was not just a parent but also a best friend and hero to his son, Troy Dean Carmack, Jr.

Troy had a vibrant personality that shone brightly through his humor and kindness. Known as a big jokester, he loved making people laugh and wielded a charm that endeared him to many. He notably enjoyed fishing and became actively involved in the bus and children's ministry at his church, where he could share his love for both the Gospel and the youth.

Troy is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Dian" Carmack; his son, Troy Dean Carmack, Jr.; brothers Larry Carmack, Don Carmack, Danny Carmack, and sisters, Sharon McAtee, Debbie McAtee and Half-Sister, Bessie Springer; his cherished grandchildren, Alison Floyd, Christopher Carmack, Madison Carmack, Ashley Jolly, and Mandarian Fucito; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Zella Carmack; daughters Sherry Diane Carmack and Candy Denise Carmack; brothers Bob, Leroy, and Rick Carmack; and sisters Helen Ebbs and Teresa Carmack.

Troy's life will be celebrated with a viewing on March 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 6001 Goodman Road, Walls, MS. Interment will take place at Cypress Memorial Gardens, Pine Bluff, AR, at 4:00 PM, concluding with burial services at 4:00 PM.

Troy Dean Carmack, Sr. will be remembered for his remarkable spirit, unwavering faith, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. His legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
