U.S. Air Force veteran Thomas Joseph Cassise, 54, victim of a July 9 heart attack, passed on July 13 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. A Dearborn, MI, native, Mr. Cassise resided in Horn Lake, MS, since 1995 and was a casino table-games employee, most recently at both Gold Strike and Sam’s Town. He supported his associates by relentlessly and tirelessly spearheading drives to try to form powerful unions for table-games dealers.
Mr. Cassise was a musician, especially enjoying playing and collecting guitars, and was a music history expert. A devoted family man, he also loved caring for three household cats.
Mr. Cassise was preceded in death by his wife of twelve years, Regina Doris Wunder. He leaves his sons William and U.S. Navy Chief Daniel and their wives, respectively, Kalene and Trisha, along with six grandchildren, Alexander, Lillian, Brooklyn, Emma Jo, Madalyn, and Joseph. In addition, his sister Edna and her husband Douglas Bennett have two sons and four grandchildren. Mr. Cassise also says goodbye to many friends of his and Doris’s, in particular, Elisabeth Campbell, Bill and Josefina Southall, and Les and Ann Tivers.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671). Memorial donations may be offered to the charity of your choice.
