Thomas “Buddy” Simon, Jr.

Thomas “Buddy” Simon, Jr. age 74, of Southaven, MS, passed away on Sunday March 12, 2023. He was born October 14,1948 to the late Thomas Simon and Rona Witt. Visitation will be on Monday March 20, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by Funeral service at 12:00 pm, interment will immediately follow. All services will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home located at 290 Goodman Rd. E., Southaven, MS 38671.

Buddy attended Whitehaven High School and then joined the U.S. Army in 1967. During his time in the Army he received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army Commendation Medal. He was employed by Methodist Hospital as the Transportation Manager where he later retired.

Since his retirement he was able to spend time on restoring classic cars, playing with his dog “Peanut’ or watching Alabama football. “Roll Tide!” Buddy was also a frequent donor to charities including:

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

, Memphis Union Mission, Bikers Against Drunk Drivers and

Shriners Hospitals for Children

.

He leaves behind a son, Doug Simon (Jaime) of Houston, TX and a daughter, Tracy Wrenn (Keith) of Oxford, MS. His grandchildren, Hannah Sullivan, Hailey Sullivan, Hunter Sullivan, Myles Wrenn, Caden Wrenn and Khloe Metropoulos. Several nieces/nephews to include Renie Bumpous (Brooks), Bill Argol (Joanna), Arte Spencer (Mandy) and Randi Beatty.

Buddy is preceded in death by the love of his life Debra Simon and their daughter Holly Simon.
