Sydney D. Westmoreland

March 3, 1989 — May 28, 2024

Southaven, Ms

Sydney D. Westmoreland, lovingly known as Sweet Pete to her beloved parents, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2024, in Southaven, MS. She was born on March 3, 1989, in Memphis, TN.

Sydney will always be remembered for her kind-hearted nature and her genuine love for both animals (barring bees and raccoons) and people. Her subtle sense of humor coupled with her accepting and generous demeanor touched the lives of many. Sydney had no time for fake people; she valued authenticity above all else.

One of Sydney's proudest accomplishments was surviving cancer as an infant, a testament to her strength and resilience. She cherished her time spent at St. Jude comforting others and had a deep passion for gaming, anime, and all things Japanese. An avid reader, Sydney never turned down a book except when it came to schoolbooks.

Sydney leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will be deeply missed by her parents Dennis & Linda Westmoreland, her sister Britany Harwell, aunts Laurie Wehmayer and Tammy (Scott) Brown, 9 cousins, as well as numerous friends and family members. She was preceded in death by grandparents Preston & Dorothy Hooker and Wayne & Julie Bailey, aunt Kathy Bobbs,

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Sydney's life will be held on June 1, 2024, at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. The service will begin at 2:00 PM and conclude at 4:00 PM.

Sydney's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved deeply by those whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, in addition to St. Jude, donations may be sent to a No-Kill Shelter of your choosing.
