Shirley Ann Bloodgood

Shirley Ann Bloodgood, age 73, of Hernando, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her home after a brief illness.  She was born in the back of a 1949 Chevy pickup on April 3, 1950 in Ashland, MS to the late S. A. Smith and Arsula (Brock) Smith Sing.

Shirley worked at Wells-Lamont Glove Corporation for 42 years as a shipping clerk.  She loved watching her soap operas, football games – especially the Packers, Cowboys, and the Jets depending on which team her favorite players were, NASCAR, going to the casino to play the slot machines, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her little Boo-Boo Braiden.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death her brothers Harold “Buster” Smith, Olen “Buddy” Smith, Glen Smith and Farrel Smith, her sister Brenda Ray, and her stepfather Thomas Lee Sing.

Shirley will be remembered by her beloved husband of nearly 38 years, Charles Bloodgood, daughter Kathy Fiveash, granddaughter Kayleigh Fiveash (Colton Watson), her great-grandson and pride and joy Braiden Watson, her great-granddaughter Gracelynn Watson who will arrive soon, sister Ruby Cianciolo (Joe), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and again on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
