Mrs. Sheila JoAnn Longcrier is the daughter of the late Bobbie Sue McQuilliams and Milton Aldridge. Sheila Aldridge was born on March 21, 1962 in Waukegan, Illinois. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and faithfully attended church with her grandmother “Mama” Lillie Whirley, in Corinth, MS. As an adult, Sheila was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Jesus in Byhalia, Mississippi.
Because of her sense of humor and big heart, she was cherished by many. She loved animals, flowers, Chinese food, and of course, her family and Jesus. Everyone who knew Sheila, knew how proud she was of her daughters and grandbabies. She had a strong will and an unwavering faith. Multi-talented, she was skilled in drawing, woodworking, sewing, cooking, gardening, photography, and mothering. She raised her four daughters to be strong women and fiercely protective mothers, just as she was.
Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Saturday on April 17, 2021 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her Mama, Lillie Whirley, her mother, Bobbie Sue McQuilliams and father, Milton Aldridge, as well as her husband, Michael Longcrier, and many beloved aunts, cousins, and friends who flowered her life with love and laughter.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Lillian (Dee-Dee) Self of Southaven, MS, Regina Self Humble of Olive Branch, MS, Tonya McMahan and Jodi Oakes-Collado, both of Southaven, MS. Sons-in law, Jackie McMahan, Cortney James, and Leonardo Collado, as well as one daughter-in-law, Amanda Gitomer; 11 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Teresa (Crickett) Middleton of Byhalia, MS and Angie Herring and Darree McQuilliams both of Southaven, MS; Eva (Aldridge) Nolen and 1 brother DeWayne Aldridge both of Alabama; brothers-in-law: William Middleton and Michael Herring; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, church family members, and friends.
