Sandra Jean-Estep Butler, fondly known as “Nonniee”, gracefully departed from this world on July 10, 2024, at home in Horn Lake, Mississippi. She was born on March 23, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee. Sandra led a fulfilling life dedicated to service and unwavering love for her family.
Throughout her professional journey, Sandra made a significant impact in both the financial sector and the field of cancer. She devoted over three decades of her life to Union Planters as a trust manager before transitioning into cancer research at GTx, Inc. post-retirement.
Amongst her many passions were reading, sports, staying informed about current events, and indulging in court and crime shows such as Criminal Minds and all the NCIS series. Her love for literature was unmatched as she could devour six to seven books in a single week. Sandra's intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for life were truly inspiring.
However, Sandra's proudest accomplishments revolved around her role as a mother and grandmother. She lived selflessly for her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Her light shone brightest when surrounded by her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Sandra in death are her loving parents Willie and Maxine Estep. She is survived by her daughter Lauren Bradley (Chad), sons Shane Kellon (Amber) and Joshua Butler (Tova), grandchildren Chloe (Gary), Haley, Joshy, Jordan, Ryan, and Tyler; great-grandchildren Zayn, Wyatt, Coby, and Madelyn; as well as siblings Glenn Estep, Judy Griffin, Teri Lipscomb, and Kenny Estep. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.
A "Celebration of Life" service honoring Sandra Jean-Estep Butler will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, Mississippi. The event will commence at 5:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM to commemorate a life well-lived.
