Rufus Wayne Kelso, age 68, of Horn Lake MS, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his residence. He was born on February 25, 1954, to Max and Joyce Kelso.
Mr. Kelso served his country in the Army for 22 years until he retired. After which he spent another 26+ years serving his community in the U.S. Postal Services. He was a life- time member of The American Legion. He was the biggest NASCAR fan he loved those “LEFT TURNS”. He loved his “New Orleans SAINTS” (Who dat?). He had a special love for riding motorcycles and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Rufus will be remembered by his father Max Kelso, wife of 39 loving years Lucia Kelso, five children; Jolie (Josh) Smith, John (Angie) Kelso, Deseree (Blake) Prather, Laraine Kelso (special friend Chris Manns), Josh (special friend Miranda Easom); His eight grandchildren; Patrick, Joel, Nathan, Mckayla, Gavin, Malachi, Gabriel and Layla; Three siblings; Nona Springer, Mark Kelso & Teresa Boylan and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce Kelso, brother Glynn Kelso and two children Bryan and Jodie Kelso.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Rufus Wayne Kelso will be held on Sunday March 27, 2022, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. A Reception will immediately follow at The American Legion in Horn Lake Mississippi.
