Ruby Marie Wright, known affectionately as "Mema" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Olive Branch, MS, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was born on July 3, 1928, in Murphysboro, IL, to Linden and Ella (Herring) Butcher.

Ruby devoted her life to caring for her family after she married her beloved husband of 62 years, John T. Ruby will be deeply missed by her surviving family: daughter Vicki Walling (John), sons John T. Wright, Jr. (Gloria), and Michael Wright (Debra); six grandchildren Michele DuBois, Shane Wright, Scott Wright, Christine Cook, Laura Lee Wright, Julie Wright; great-grandchildren Josh DuBois, Nicholas DuBois, Faith DuBois, Daniel DuBois, Sean Cook, Stephanie Wright, Jonathan Wright, Clover Wright; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband of 62 years John T. Wright, Sr., who preceded her in death. Ruby leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Ruby is preceded in death by her brothers Carl Butcher, Earl Butcher, Leonard Butcher, Leo Butcher, Ray Butcher; and sisters Clara LeMarshall and Minnie Dickerson.
