Ruby Leona “Ledy” Taylor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She gained her wings on August 17, 2023, at the young age of 99 in Southaven, MS.
She was born to Ollie and Neva Ogle in Albertville, AL on December 5, 1923. She grew up in the Fort Payne area of Alabama helping her family in the fields and later working in the sock factories.
She married her loving husband Charles A. Taylor in 1956. They had one daughter, Cathy.
Ruby enjoyed spending time with her family, putting jigsaw puzzles together, cooking, gardening, bragging on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to anyone that would listen, and her independence. She was loved by so many people and will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her daughter; Cathy (John) Cox, 2 granddaughters; Melissa (Jeremy) Funderburk, Charly (Wes) Fortenberry, and 3 great-grandchildren; Taylor, Allison, and Ruby.
She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Neva Ogle, her husband of over 52 years Charles Taylor, and her six brothers and one sister.
A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. Interment will immediately follow. All services will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671
