Roseline D. Szekely

It is with great sadness that the family of Roseline "Rose" Szekely, announces her passing on July 22, 2024 after a lengthy illness. She was born in 1952, in Kokomo, IN, and now joins her parents, Arvil and Vida Dodd, and brothers Tony, Mike, and Audie Dodd in Heaven.

Surviving Rose are her beloved husband of 52 years, William "Bill" Szekely; her 3 children Melissa "Lisa", William "Tony" (Angela), and Christopher "Chris" Szekely; grandchildren Caiden Fortune, Deanne, Katherine, and Samantha Szekely; as well as her brother Richard Dodd and long time caregiver Tameka Cowan.

In her early years, Rose served her country in the United States Air Force where she met her best friend and husband, Bill Szekely. Following military service, she went on to achieve two engineering degrees from State Tech while working at the IRS from which she retired. Rose was most dedicated to our Lord and savior and was an active member of her church.

Beyond her professional achievements and love for God, Rose's pride and joy was her family in which she excelled in her nurturing roles as a wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and left behind a legacy of unconditional love and devotion. 

Rose will be remembered for the joy she brought to others through her contagious laughter and quirky ways. She was always on the go but commonly seen reading a good book or working on a crafting project. Her face often reflected her appreciation for life's simple pleasures like the wind blowing in her face.

Services to honor Rose's life will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. A visitation will take place on July 29th starting at 12:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.

In remembrance of Rose Szekely, let us celebrate a life well-lived. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
