Phyllis Brassfield Akins of Southaven, MS passed away on October 17, 2023 at age 72. She was born in New Albany, MS on December 7, 1950 to the late Frank and Clara (Caldwell) Brassfield of Ecru, MS.
She worked for 20 years as the administrative secretary at the Hospital in Pontotoc, MS and at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. Phyllis retired from Federal Express and worked as a secretary in the Legal and Ground Transportation/Engineering departments and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Pontotoc, MS. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, shopping, music and loving her cats, friends and family.
Phyllis leaves her husband, Harold of 37 years; sister Katherine King (Eugene) of Bartlett, TN; sons Douglas and Stephen Akins both of Memphis, TN; step-son Jody (Jennifer) of Collierville, TN, and grandchildren: (Jody) Madison, Reagan, Josie and Riley.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law; Harry and Linda Akins. sister-in-law Melinda McLeroy; and nephew Marcus Jones

Her Life Celebration will be held at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven MS on Friday November 3, 2023 with visitation at 5 p.m. with life services at 6 p.m.
