Peggy Griffin Moore

November 30, 1938 — January 1, 2025

Southaven, MS

Peggy Griffin Moore, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on January 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Southaven, Mississippi. Born on November 30, 1938, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi, Peggy embodied a life devoted to her family, her faith, and her community.

In her professional life, Peggy loved being a Teacher's Assistant and dedicated numerous years to Greenbrook Elementary. She cherished the children and teachers she worked alongside, touching many lives with her kindness and wisdom. Beyond her role in education, Peggy was a devoted homemaker and caregiver, always ready to give of herself to those around her.

Peggy was a perfect blend of generosity and thoughtfulness, embodying the role of a good Christian and servant of God. Her selflessness and optimistic spirit made her a beloved member of her community. A good listener and a source of sage advice, Peggy had an innate ability to uplift those around her, drawing them together through shared memories and laughter. Whether playing card and board games such as Trivial Pursuit or attending church for Bible study, she filled her life with activities that brought joy to her and her loved ones.

A die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan, Peggy found happiness in both the simple and grand moments of life. She traveled  with her senior adult church group and family, visiting breathtaking destinations such as the beach, Disney, the Grand Canyon, and Niagara Falls. She was actively involved in her church, DeSoto Hills Baptist Church, passionately participating in events like the Goldfish Booth at the fall festival.

Peggy met the love of her life, Wayne Moore, in high school, where they became sweethearts before embarking on their journey together as husband and wife. Together, they nurtured a family that flourished in love and support. Peggy took immense pride in her children—Renee (Dennis) Mueller, Derek (Debbie) Moore, Rhonda (Tim) Harris, Dawn (Mike) Simpson, and Alison (Kevin) Sanders—as well as her grandchildren: Kristen (Chase) Hively, Erin (Alex) Smith, Stephanie (Josh) Blake, Callie (Jason) Bane, Christianne (Josh) Curbow, April (Colton) Ellis, Timothy Harris, Caleb (Minami) Harris, Jordan (Bret) Simpson, Savannah (Robert) Barnes, Jenna Claire Sanders, Hallie Sanders and many great-grandchildren, whose laughter and joy filled her heart. She also valued the relationships with her brother, David (Lib) Griffin, aunt Joyce (Gerald) Lewis, and other extended family.

Peggy is welcomed into heaven by her beloved husband, Wayne, her parents, William "Pude" and Maylene Griffin, aunts Faye Black and Ruth Meyer as well as her cherished grandchild, Andrew Joseph Harris. She leaves behind the legacy of a life lived fully in love, service, and faith.
