Paul David Grosjean

Paul David Grosjean, affectionately known to many as Skip, peacefully passed away on August 19 2024, in Batesville, Mississippi, after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 5, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee, and it is there that he cherished his earliest memories, growing into the gentle spirit that touched so many lives.

Skip lived a fulfilling life centered around family, friends, and simple joys that made each day special. A dedicated worker he retired from Fed-Ex after an impressive 34 years of service as a freight handler. This was more than just a job to him; it was a testament to his commitment and work ethic, something he took great pride in.

His warmth and kindness were evident in all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Skip was a quiet man, yet his humor shone brightly, often bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. He had an unwavering love for his family, which included his beloved wife of 42 years, Debbie (Marlin) Grosjean, his son Nick Grosjean (Kristi), and daughter Amber Grosjean Freund (Robert), as well as his cherished granddaughter Phoebe Grosjean. His eyes sparkled with pride as he embraced his role as a father and grandfather, gifts he considered among his proudest accomplishments.

In his leisure time, Skip found joy in various hobbies that reflected his zest for life. Whether he was playing golf, casting a line while fishing, grilling out for family gatherings, or tossing a few bags in a game of cornhole, he always approached each moment with enthusiasm and love. An avid sports fan, he relished watching Alabama football and rooting for the Memphis Tigers basketball team. Many fond memories were created in his living room, where laughter echoed as exuberantly cheered for his teams and engaged in karaoke marathons that lasted for hours, sharing melodies and making memories with those he loved.

Skip's spirit was shaped not only by the living but also by the cherished memories of those who preceded him in death. He was preceded by his sister, Debra Kirkpatrick, and his parents, Frank and Joanne (Hulseberg) Grosjean, Jr. Their love stayed with him throughout his life, shaping the man we remember today. Additionally, his beloved dog Robert held a special place in his heart, a companion whose loyalty mirrored Skip's own gentle nature.
