Mrs. Patsy Moon Wigington, 86, of Hernando, MS passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto, located in Southaven, MS. She was born December 29, 1931 in Leslie, AR to the late John Charlton Moon and Pearl Beavers Moon. Mrs. Wigington served as an insurance agent for the majority of her adult life prior to her retirement. The two most important aspects of her life were her family and her faith. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Hernando, MS for nine years. Mrs. Wigington was a simple woman with good and honest Christian values. It could be said that her home was were her heart was, as she was the true definition of a family matriarch. She was the glue that held her family together. Mrs. Wigington was a devoted mother, who was always caring, understanding, and loving no matter the situation at hand. She was always there to listen and offer prayers for peace and guidance. She enjoyed visiting the beach and finding seashells. She also loved working sudoku puzzles and crossword puzzles, as well as gardening. Mrs. Wigington will be greatly missed by those she shared her life with.
Mrs. Wigington leaves behind her three sons, Tom Wigington, Jr. (Anita) of Memphis, TN, John Wigington (Stephen) of Mableton, GA, and Adam Wigington (Gina) of Hernando, MS; one daughter, Leslie Johnson of Hernando, MS; seven grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Jacob Wigington, Damon Wigington, Timothy Wigington, Shaun Wigington, Chasity Wigington, and Matthew Wigington; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Thomas M. Wigington, Sr.; one son, Paul Wigington; and parents, John Charlton Moon and Pearl Beavers Moon.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations and memorials in honor of Mrs. Patsy Moon Wigington, be made to Parkway Baptist Church (50 N Parkway St, Hernando, MS 38632).
Visitation will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671) with the funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel. Interment will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tom Marshall will officiate the services.
