Melinda Ann Heulitt, affectionately known as Mena, crossed the threshold of this world on January 29, 2025, after a long and hard-fought battle that lasted over a decade. Born on October 5, 1966, in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee, Melinda's life was a testament to unwavering strength, boundless love, and a commitment to excellence in all she endeavored.

A devoted wife to her beloved husband, Robert "Drew" Heulitt, Melinda was not only his partner but his world and soulmate. Their shared laughter, cherished memories, and experiences of venturing into new activities together are fondly remembered. Melinda was a woman of deep beauty, both inside and out, whose caring nature extended beyond her immediate family to anyone in need.

As a mother, Melinda found her proudest accomplishments in loving her children, Brandon Herring and her late son Hunter Herring and daughter Heather Herring. She had an open line of communication with her son, always available for a call at any time. Her love for her kids was unparalleled, and they were at the forefront of her heart and soul.

Melinda often shared her passion for gardening, painting, baking, and nurturing her plants. She found joy in working in the yard, where her vibrant spirit could be seen blooming alongside her flowers. Her smile and infectious laughter could light up any room, leaving behind warm memories for all who had the privilege to know her.

Beyond her immediate family, Melinda was surrounded by her loving parents, Kenneth (Shirley) Franklin and Frances Roberson, a devoted sister, Lisa (Jeff) Yeager, and a cherished nephew, Andrew. She also held a special place in her heart for her sister-in-law, Letha Heulitt, and her special aunt, Joyce Williams. Numerous other family members and friends were fortunate to be embraced by the warmth of her presence.

Melinda’s life will be celebrated on February 15, 2025, at Life Springs United Methodist Church in Southaven, Mississippi. The service, beginning at noon, will honor a woman who touched the lives of many through her kindness, diligence, and love.
