Mary Elizabeth Chism, a beloved soul who touched the hearts of all who knew her, passed away on August 9 2024, in Southaven, MS. She was born on October 14, 1946, in Amory, MS, to her loving parents Lloyd Binford Bonds and Mabel (Lusby) Bonds.

Mary led a fulfilling life filled with profound connections and lasting memories. With an outgoing personality that attracted people like magnets, she was loved by all who crossed her path. Mary's warm and inviting nature made her easy to talk to, fostering life-long friendships wherever she went.

In her professional journey, Mary worked diligently as a lab technician at the University of Tennessee, West Cancer Clinic, and Dr. Jack Biggs of Southaven. Her dedication to her career was admirable, leaving a lasting impact on those she worked with.

Alongside her professional accomplishments, Mary valued her education and attended the University of Tennessee in Memphis for lab technician training. Her commitment to learning and growth was evident in all aspects of her life.

Mary's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She found joy in cheering for Ole' Miss football, cherishing her dogs, spending time with her beloved boys, grandchildren, and extended family, and indulging in her joys of fishing and reading.  A devoted friend, Mary found solace in the company of her loved ones.

Mary's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly becoming a loving mother to her sons, Brad Chism (Leeanna) and Jason Chism (Kirsten). She cherished her role as a mother and embraced it with unwavering love and devotion. Mary's legacy also lives on through her five grandchildren, Hunter Shea Chism (Madilyn), Dustin Cooper Chism, Sara Bonds Chism, Jackson Wheeler Chism, Casey Elizabeth Chism, and great-grandchildren Easton Ellis Chism and Elijah Stone Chism.

In the midst of her peaceful passing, Mary was surrounded by her cherished family, finding comfort in their presence. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her surviving family members: her loving husband Robert Chism, sons Brad Chism and Jason Chism, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister Carole Rawls. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Janice Corrine Gardner.  Mary enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held at the Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, MS, on August 12, 2024. A Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with burial to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Mary Elizabeth Chism will be deeply missed, but her spirit and legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
