Malcolm Oakes McSpadden, 73, of Southaven, MS died Monday, October 23, 2023 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. Malcolm was born September 25, 1950 to John S. McSpadden and Elizabeth Oakes McSpadden.
Malcolm was a member of Longstreet United Methodist Church. He was a 1969 graduate of Whitehaven High School and then The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where he pledged Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a sales manager in fine jewelry at Dillard’s. Malcolm was a faithful friend to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Scott McSpadden and Bob McSpadden.
Malcolm is survived by his loving wife, Margaret McSpadden; his 2 sons, Jeff Proctor (Melissa) and James Ryan Proctor. God sent Malcolm a special blessing on August 6, 2017, a grandson named Toby Proctor. Toby was the apple of his eye! Toby returned that love to his PawPaw. He also leaves his loving nieces and nephews, his sisters-in-law Trudy Allmon and Mary Ellen McSpadden and brother-in-law Chip Settle (Amy) and many loving cousins, and friends. Malcolm, we all say “Hotty Toddy”!
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 30 with funeral beginning at 11 a.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Rd. East, Southaven, MS. 38671. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis.
