Lydia Joan (Blankenship) Arata

Lydia JoAn (Blankenship) Arata age 87 of Southaven, Mississippi went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She lived in Memphis, Tennessee most of her life. She attended Treadwell High School. Later she moved to Southaven, Mississippi.

She was preceded in passing by her son Mitchell Arata, Jr., her patents Vesper Blankenship and Margarette Holcomb, a brother Buford Blankenship, sisters Cathryn Baird, Jean Crain, and Vivian Knight.

She leaves behind her husband of 70 years Merrell (Sonny) Arata, a daughter Tamala Schumpert, granddaughters Kaitlin McDaniel and Callie Baker, Great grandson Case McDaniel, and a host of friends and neighbors.

Services will be held at Twin Oaks Funeral Home 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS the viewing will be on Thursday, October 21
