Linda Mae Barrentine Traylor,
68, passed away August 14, 2016. She was born September 14, 1947 in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany to Prentiss Edward Barrentine, Sr. and Marianne Anger Barrentine.
She was a teacher at Lafayette County Elementary and Middle School in Oxford, MS for 12 years. Linda’s lifelong passions were horses and the farm life. She owned a small horse farm in Pontotoc, MS, and started a small business selling reining horses worldwide. She was an avid baker, and enjoyed making traditional German foods and pastries.
She is survived by her son Matthew Hays Traylor of Olive Branch, MS and daughter Emily Roxanne Traylor of Stillwater, OK; two brothers, Prentiss Edward Barrentine, Jr. of Sherman, MS, Dennis Walter Barrentine of Albany, GA; and one sister Cathy Anna Cook (David) of Okolona, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Prentiss Edward Barrentine, Sr. and Marianne Anger Barrentine, and one sister-in-law Sandra Kelly Barrentine.
The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 26th at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS with Brother Chris Hodges officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Mississippi Horses (
