Linda Sue Blanton

Linda Sue Blanton, lovingly known as Grandmama, entered her eternal home on March 4, 2025, in Memphis, TN. Born March 28, 1939, to James and Letha Chain, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose faith and love shaped generations.

A homemaker at heart, Linda created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of her cooking. She was the steady foundation of her family, instilling the values of faith, hard work, and togetherness. She took joy in gardening, crocheting, and serving others, always offering a kind word and a welcoming embrace. Her love for flowers was evident in the way she tended to her garden, filling her home with beauty and sharing that joy with those around her.

She is deeply cherished by her children: Gail (Chris) Sears, William (Sherry) Blanton, and Sherry (Tom) Hughes; her grandchildren: Courtney (Jeremy) Reynolds, Elizabeth (Philip) Jolly, Brandon (Lyndsi) Blanton, Joseph (April) Sears, Jared Blanton, Tommy (Cori) Hughes, Haley Hughes, Natalie (Topher) Campbell, and Chelsea (Ben) Harrison; and her great-grandchildren: Peyton Reynolds, Aubrie Blanton, Kai Jolly, Neri Jolly, Philip Jolly III, Easton Blanton, Diem Sears, Addison Lopez, Kayce Cabello, Lydia Harrison, Zarek Harbin, and Huxen Hughes.

Linda’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She read her Bible daily, prayed fervently, and shared the love of Christ with all who knew her. She now rejoices in heaven alongside her beloved husband, Ellis O. Blanton; her parents; her siblings, Rose Roberts and Minnie Livingston; her son, Olen Blanton; and her grandsons, Matthew Blanton, Brad Blanton, and Ellis Hughes.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 8, 2025, at Central Church in Southaven, MS, followed by the Funeral Service. Linda’s love, wisdom, and unwavering faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
