Laurie Lee Pedeaux, fondly known as "Mimi" to her loved ones, passed away on July 30, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories. She was born on January 17, 1940, in New Orleans, LA, to parents Phillip Paul and Mary Antoinette (Hammond) Pedeaux, and grew up in Ponchatoula, LA. Laurie was a remarkable individual who wore many hats throughout her life from running local nightclubs in Baton Rouge, LA, to later transitioning the role of an insurance agent.
Those who knew Laurie will fondly remember her as a hard-headed yet adventurous soul. She exuded independence and had a fun-loving nature that was contagious to all who crossed her path. Her impeccable sense of style always turned heads, but it was her warm and welcoming demeanor that truly left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
One of Laurie's most cherished pastimes was trying to teach her daughter Lesa Quin and her nieces and nephews how to play golf in the front yard. Her love for the sport mirrored her approach to life - patient, determined, and always aiming for the perfect shot. Besides golfing, Laurie also found joy in sailing the open waters and indulging in her passion for drawing.
Among her proudest accomplishments were becoming a devoted mother and grandmother while fiercely maintaining her independence. Laurie's spirit of self-sufficiency shone brightly throughout her life and inspired those around her to embrace their individuality with pride.
Laurie is survived by her loving daughter Lesa Quin (Chuck); grandchildren Jason Scott Bane (Kara), Danielle Torres (Blake), Cayle Bane (Kari), Taylor Quin; great-grandchildren Jason Bane, Mason Torres, Brooklyn Torres, Kylee Bane, Beaux Bane, Sawyer Benedict, and Slade Bane; sister Carol Pedeaux Vitter; along with several nieces and nephews.
