Larry Stephen Poe

Larry Stephen Poe, age 74, of Lake Cormorant, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven.  He was born in Jefferson County, AL on September 24, 1948 to the late William Clarence and Margaret Inez (Gibson) Poe.

Larry loved daydreaming about his next projects. One thing about Larry is that he would write his goals and review what he had accomplished for that year. He was a dreamer and also one that manifests. Aside from his thinking mind, he enjoyed playing the guitar, riding horses, reading, drawing, writing, and fishing. He also loved to cook and kept all his mother’s recipes. Larry was a man with a “larger than life” personality. He embedded a drive for success into his sons. Beneath his strong personality, there was a soft heart. He showed care in a different way, which may differ from conventional care, it is caring that has value, it is tough love.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Poe, Mike Poe, and Glen Poe.  Larry will be remembered by his sons Blair Poe and Jim Francis, his daughter-in-law Michelle Poe, and two very close friends, Tom Bostic and Glen Coltharp.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be private.
