Laraby Christine King, beloved daughter, wife, and mother, departed this world on February 27, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on August 3, 1993, in Mobile, Alabama, Laraby's vibrant spirit shone brightly through her years with a warmth and silliness that endeared her to all who crossed her path. She was not only magnificently beautiful but possessed an immense strength that made her the foundation of her family.
Laraby dedicated her professional life as a call-back nurse for the Memphis Children's Clinic, where her nurturing nature made a positive impact on countless young lives. Yet her greatest joys were found not in her work but in the love she cultivated at home. The pride of her life was becoming a wife and mother. She shared a deep connection with her beloved husband, Dustin King, whom she met at the tender age of 15. Their love story unfolded over the years, ultimately culminating in their marriage when Laraby was 29. Alongside Dustin, she embraced the role of a nurturing mother to their precious daughters, Aubree Grace and Everlee Taylor, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Laraby's personality could only be described as infectious. Known for her laughter and love of dancing, her home was often filled with joyous music—memories of her twirling around to her favorite tunes will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved. She found happiness in the small things, such as delighting in crab legs, celebrating Halloween, and enjoying outings to the beach. Movies were a cherished escape for her, with "Hocus Pocus" being her absolute favorite. Her family often fondly recounted how she could effortlessly convince her husband to love her dramatic acts and delight in his dad jokes.
Surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness, Laraby's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of many. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dustin; children, Aubree and Everlee; her adoring parents, Wayne and Kelly (Taylor) Braswell; her supportive siblings, Stormie and Riley; and her in-laws, James and Angie King, along with brother-in-law Hunter King and sister-in-law Macie Edwards. Laraby will forever be remembered by her loving Memaw, Pat Mitchell, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins whose lives she touched with her love and laughter.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Laraby's beautiful life on Monday, March 3, 2025 with her visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of her service at 2:00 pm at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS 38671.
Laraby Christine King now rests peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her. The world is a little dimmer without her presence, but her spirit remains vibrant in the memories of joyous days and affectionate moments shared with family and friends.
