Johnny Kay Brown, a dedicated manager at a finance company for many years, has peacefully passed away at the age of 74. He was born on November 9, 1949, in Bruce, MS, and breathed his last breath on February 26, 2024, in Southaven, MS. Johnny served his country honorably in the Army Reserves for 20 years, showing his commitment and loyalty to his nation.
Johnny will always be remembered for his love for fun-filled moments and cherished memories spent on the patio with his beloved wife Kathy. His admiration for his wife's gardening skills reflected his appreciation of life's simple yet beautiful aspects. It was well-known that Johnny excelled in the art of pool playing, boasting numerous trophies from victorious tournaments throughout his life - a testament to his competitive spirit and skill.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and wonderful memories for his surviving family and friends to cherish deeply. He is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen (Vail) Brown, loving daughter Nanette, proud grandson Jonathan, stepdaughter Tammy Hancock, stepson Brian Hancock, supportive brothers Ray, Dean, Tommy, caring sisters Scottie, Teresa, Sheila, and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father R. B. Brown, mother Sara Neil (Ivy) Brown, and brother Sammy Brown.
The memories shared with Johnny are too vast to capture just one as each interaction with him brought joy and laughter to those around him. His passion for life was evident in the trip he took to Las Vegas with Kathy and in every moment he spent swimming in the pool he so dearly enjoyed.
To honor the life of Johnny Kay Brown, visitation services will be held on March 11th, 2024 at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a touching Memorial Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. These services aim to celebrate the remarkable journey of a man who touched hearts and souls throughout his life.
Johnny's presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May we find solace in our fond memories of him as we navigate through this difficult time with love and remembrance in our hearts. Johnny Kay Brown will forever remain alive in our thoughts and prayers as we carry forward the light he brought into each of our lives.
