JOHN RODGER “ROD” GUNN
, 43, bartender/manager for the Buccaneer Lounge, was born August 7, 1973 in Memphis and passed away August 22, 2016 at his home. Rod was christened in the Catholic Church. He is survived by his mother, Rusha Leigh Halford; step-father, Cecil Halford; one half-sister; his girlfriend, Melissa Opiel; one aunt, Donna Gunn; three uncles, Dr. John Lawrence Gunn, Dr. Joseph Gunn and his wife, Julie, and Robert Landers; several cousins; one step-grandmother; and several step-uncles and step-aunts. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Gunn and grandparents, John and Frances Gunn, C.W. “Sonny” Stephens, Jr. and Barbara Jean Powers. Visitation will be Monday, August 29 from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. Graveside services will be held Monday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
