John Richard Hinman Jr., 67, of Walls, Mississippi, passed away December 20, 2017 at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital after a brief illness.
John was born on September 23, 1950 in Mound City, IL to his parents John and Bertha Hinman. He was a member of the Mound City Baptist Church. John served for several years in the Illinois National Guard in Cairo. He worked for Philip Morris for over 30 years before retiring in 2007. John was also a Mason.
John is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pamela Hinman; three sons, John Richard Hinman III (Jack), Brandon Taylor and Jonathan Sanders; two brothers, Roy Hinman, Sr. and James T. Hinman; one sister, Barbara Jo Stone; and seven grandchildren, Guy Richard Hinman, Sloan Hinman, Jordan Taylor, Haley Taylor, Christian Taylor, Kiera Taylor, and Austin Sanders. He was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Clyde L. Hinman and Carl A. Hinman; and one sister, Katherine Wilbourn.
Visitation will take place on December 28, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Southaven, Mississippi. Interment will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in a private cemetery in Mounds, Illinois at Spencer Heights Memorial Cemetery.
