John Larry Hodge

John Larry Hodge, age 77, of Holly Springs, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford.  He was born on November 23, 1946 in Columbus, MS to the late John A. and Clara T. (Cotton) Hodge.

John retired from the United States Navy as a Recruitment Officer, and prior to that he also was in the United States Marine Corps where he was a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War.  After retirement he also worked as a truck driver, was a member of the VFW in Holly Springs, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother William David Hodge and sister Jean Ann Hodge.

John will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 14 years, Barbara (Gifford) Hodge, children Cynthia M.  Graeff, Jessica S.  Warren, Jennifer H.  Tipler, and Steven P.  Bruce and grandchildren Luke A.  Graeff, Cameron J.  Schmidt, L.  Drew Lossell, and Hanna L.  Tipler.

Burial will be private.
