John Francis Carter (Jack), 86, of Horn Lake, Mississippi passed away on February 20, 2021. Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jack Carter was born on November 16, 1934 in Liverpool, England. Some things that Jack enjoyed doing in his free time were fishing, reading, hunting or really anything that had to do with the outdoors. He was a true outdoorsman. Jack was also a gun collector and was even a Captain in the Shelby County Sheriff Reserves. Most of all, Jack would do anything for anyone and was always there when you needed him. Jack was a culinary artist and enjoyed cooking and eating. Jack will truly be missed for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
John is survived by his loving children, Jacqueline Dykes, James R. Carter (Teresa), and Jennifer M. League (Brandon); grandchildren, Patrick Holden, Jessica Gaia, Danielle Guinn, Mallory Harvey, Angela Walker, John David Carter, Alexandria Allen, Jacob Hobbs, and Ciara Yates; great-grandchildren, Madelynn McGoldrick, Jackson Gwinn, Noah McGoldrick, Cash Gwinn, Everett Gaia, Elliot Stewart, Aberdeen Allen, Samantha Jaylynn Holden; ex-wife, Ruth L. Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Carter and Edith Perry; and son, John W. Carter.
