John Floyd Chrestman

John Floyd Chrestman, age 77, a dedicated truck driver for J. E. Phillips and Sons for over 30 years, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, in Byhalia, Mississippi. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his job and the countless memories he created with his loved ones.

Born on March 9, 1946, in Water Valley, Mississippi, John was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life - from hunting and fishing expeditions with his beloved son Stephen, to trying his luck at the casinos and indulging in his fondness for scratch-off tickets. His hobbies extended to collecting coins, a reflection of his appreciation for the beauty of small treasures.

Described as loving, caring, and always thinking of others, John had a heart as vast as the Mississippi River. His gentle soul touched everyone he encountered, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that will be remembered for years to come.

Among his proudest accomplishments were his son Stephen and the successful career he built through hard work and dedication. John's impact on those around him was profound and lasting.

He is now reunited with his father Floyd Lorenzo Chrestman and mother Mattie Floyd Anthony in eternal peace. John leaves behind his cherished son Stephen (Mary), brother Tony Chrestman (Charlotte), sister Debbie Evans (Russ), cousin Jennette Whitehead, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends whose lives have been enriched by his presence.

A graveside service will be held to honor and celebrate John's life on February 28th, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, Mississippi. The memories created with John will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
