Jeffery Scott McKendree, 54, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away August 30, 2021.

Jeff was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 29, 1967 to Buddy Lee McKendree and Particia Lu McKendree Wallstedt, both who preceded him in death. Jeff graduated from Southaven High School in 1985. After graduation he joined the US Navy and served as a sonar operator on the USS Olympia. He was stationed in Honolulu and San Diego, but spent the majority of his naval years in a submarine.

After the navy, Jeff worked in casinos in Tunica, Mississippi and Detroit, Michigan before he became an owner-operator long-haul truck driver. He made it a point to visit family and friends around the country on his trips.

Jeff never married nor had children. He is survived by: his sisters Lori McKendree Spurgeon and husband Andrew Spurgeon of Singapore, and Virginia Wallstedt Gregg and husband Jeff Gregg of Southaven; his three half-brothers: Buddy McKendree, Jr. of Athens, Alabama, Dean McKendree, of Paducah, Kentucky, Ronnie McKendree of Naples, Florida; his half-sister Rhonda McKendree Key of Glasgow, Kentucky; his maternal aunts: Peggy Paxton and husband William Perce Paxton II of Bradenton, Florida, and Pamela Scott of Horn Lake, Mississippi; his paternal aunts and uncles: Donna McKendree Scheffer and husband Mike Scheffer of Cabot, Arkansas, Anna McKendree Ford, Sharlet Temple McKendree Devor, Joe McKendree and wife Kathy Dowdy McKendree, and Arvil McKendree and wife Ruth McKendree all six of Paducah; along with extended family and many friends.

A small family memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 12 at 7:00 PM. The service can be joined via Zoom.
