Jefferson Allan Hicks

August 14, 1969 — February 22, 2025

Southaven, MS

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jefferson Allan Hicks, affectionately known to his loved ones as Jeff. Born on August 14, 1969, in Plattsburgh, NY, Jeff graced this world with his warmth and kindness until he left us on February 22, 2025, in Southaven, MS. His journey was one filled with love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.

As a devoted service manager for Raleigh Tire and Service in Collierville for 18 years, Jeff embodied the essence of dedication and hard work. His proudest accomplishments included marrying the love of his life, April (Darnell) Wieland, and achieving a position in a career he genuinely loved. A naturally caring and giving person, Jeff was always there to lend a hand, often seen helping others with their vehicles or offering a listening ear. He was perpetually in good spirits, making every moment spent with him a joyful occasion. His ability to put his beloved wife, April, first was a testament to the deep love he carried in his heart.

Jeff cherished the moments spent with his family: from the jubilant thrill he experienced when acquiring his dream Harley to the warmth shared during Christmas time. He took immense joy in playing with his nine grandchildren—Brandon Jr., Colton, Camden, Bentley Wieland, Jordan, Jaidain Fogerty, Jace Gnett, Gracynn, and Cash Garza. His memories encompass vacations to ballparks with his children, heartfelt trips to visit family, and building things together, which highlight the deep bonds he formed throughout his life. Jeff had a special nickname for April, calling her "Love," a simple yet profound expression of the affection they shared.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, April; son Dylan Hicks, as well as Austin Decareaux, whom he raised as his own son; sister Kathlene Hicks Rivers; father Fredrick J. Hicks; brother-in-law and best friend Aaron Darnell; and four step-children, Brandon, Aaryn, Lauren, and Madison. The love and legacy Jeff leaves behind will forever resonate in the lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Shirley (Daniels) George, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms.

In honoring Jeff’s life, we invite family and friends to join us for a visitation and funeral service on March 1, 2025, at The Carter Memorial Chapel at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. The visitation will take place from 2 PM to 3 PM, followed by the funeral service from 3 PM to 4 PM.
