JEAN MARIE MOENTMANN OLSON BRADDOCK, 80, of Southaven MS, passed away on 9 March 2016. Born on Wednesday, 10 July 1935, in Frankenmuth, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Rudolf Milton Moentmann, formerly of Norborne, Missouri, and the late Freda Nora (Schiffmann), formerly of Carrollton, Missouri. Jean was baptized at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne. Jean graduated from Concordia High School, Class of 1953, in Concordia, Missouri, and Concordia Teacher’s College (University), Class of 1958, in Seward, Nebraska. She taught in Lutheran schools in Winfield, Kansas; Webster Grove, Missouri; Kansas City, Kansas; Glendale, New York; and Memphis, Tennessee; as well as in public schools in Nebraska and Alabama. After her retirement from teaching, Jean participated inmission trips to Macao and Poland, where she continued to teach children for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Jean loved music, being a church organist and choir director throughout and beyond her teaching career, and singing with the Sweet Adelines for 25 years. Jean is survived by her husband of 6 years, James William “Jimmy” Braddock; three children: Mark (Pam) Olson, Heather Olson Mann and Kristin (John) Olson-Kennedy; one sister, Sylvia (Arnold) Jacob; four grandchildren: Geoffrey Mann, Emily Mann, Matthew Olson, and Mark Olson.
