Janith Lynn Lundy, 80, of Memphis, TN, passed peacefully on February 27, 2020 in Southaven, MS. Family will be receiving friends Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home (290 Goodman Road East Southaven, MS 38671) with a service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Memorial Park (5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119). Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Janith was born in Memphis, TN to Albert and Gwendolyn Gossett on January 16, 1940. She was a graduate of Central High School and Bob Jones University. She married Steve Lundy on August 21, 1961 in Memphis, TN. She worked as a homemaker raising her children and then became a kindergarten teacher. She taught for a number of years at the International Community School in Bangkok, Thailand. She was active member of First Evangelical Church, teaching a number of classes. She loved studying and teaching the Bible. She also was committed to teaching children the Bible through Child Evangelism Fellowship throughout her whole life.
Janith is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Lundy, and her son, Todd Lundy and parents, Albert P. and Gwendolyn B. Gossett.
She is survived by her children: Troy (Jennifer) Lundy of Southaven, MS; Tim (Lea) Lundy of San Jose, CA; and Christy Lundy of Greenville, SC; as well as 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
