Janet Marie (Byrd) Baldwin, of Horn Lake, MS, peacefully passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 80 at the Baptist-Reynolds Hospice House Collierville, TN. She was surrounded by care and tenderness as she passed from this world. Janet was born on November 18, 1943, and was the daughter of Berma and Milton Byrd. She now joins in heaven her beloved husband, Velton Baldwin, and her parents.
Janet was a kind, generous, and loving person. She had a fierce love for her family and treated everyone she encountered with warmth and compassion. She never met a stranger – only friends she hadn’t yet hugged. Her generosity knew no bounds; if love were currency, she’d have been a billionaire.
Janet dedicated her life to raising her children and providing a loving home for her family. She found joy and fulfillment in nurturing her children and creating a supportive environment for them to thrive.
Janet is survived by her sister, Helon Hall, and her husband, Charles. She is also survived by her daughter, Susan Baldwin, and her son, Jim Baldwin, along with his wife, Ok Nam. Janet leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Ross and his wife Victoria, Richard, Adam and his wife Cassidy, and James.
Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church Horn Lake for over 50 years, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Her life was a living example of Christian love and grace.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14th, at 12:00 pm, with a service to follow at 1:00 pm.
