JAMES THOMAS CARTER
died August 7, 2015 at North Delta Hospice from complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born to Charlene and Holland Carter of February 4, 1925. He was retired from Navistar International. He served on the Board of Stewards at Calvary Methodist and choir at Calvary and Union Avenue Methodist Churches. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha; a son, James Perry Carter of Memphis; a daughter, Diane Carter Anton and her husband, Quinn; three grandchildren, Drs. Christopher and Angela Anton of The Woodlands, TX, Mark J. Anton and his wife, Hela of Pasadena, TX, and Courtney Brooke Thomas and her husband, J.R. of Pasadena, TX. He also leaves six great grandchildren, Victoria, Laura, Jennifer, Mark, Jr., Avery, and Carly of The Woodlands, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlene and Murrel Morrison and brothers, Robert H. Carter and Harry A. Carter. Visitation will be

at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. Graveside services will begin at
1 p.m.
at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice.
