It is with deep sadness that we share with you the passing of our brother, uncle, friend —Randy Wilson. A trained EMT and United States Air Force Veteran, his determination and positive attitude have influenced his ability to live fully in spite of decades of health issues.
His sense of humor, and great attitude have inspired his family daily. We will cherish the road trips, classic rock name-that-band sessions and casino adventures. He was a “dachshund man” at heart, but was always ready to pet any dog he encountered, saying “all dogs love me.” Certainly, all dogs can recognize a good heart when they meet one.
Known for his friendly nature, ready laugh and love for NFL football, Randy will be missed by his family and many friends—staff and neighbors—at Wellmore of Tega Cay. We are so thankful for this community where he belonged and thrived.
The care and attention he received from the team at Wellmore and WellCare was phenomenal. We are also grateful to Veterans Administration—Rock Hill Clinic for their commitment to his health over the years; and to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Carolinas for their support and care in the final months.
Randy is predeceased by his parents Gerald Ray Wilson, Sr. and Carol Crouch Wilson. He is survived by his brothers: Russell (Jill) and Ray (Faith) ; Nieces and Nephews: J.P. Wilson, Anna Katherine Wilson, Kelly Carter Childress (Jason), Philip Carter; and beloved dachshunds Sadie and Buddy.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America at PVA.org.
