Hallo Jean Schroerlucke

October 31, 1953 — August 31, 2024

Olive Branch, MS

Hallo Jean Schroerlucke, affectionately known as Holly, was a radiant spirit who touched the lives of many. Born on October 31, 1953, in Okemah, Oklahoma, she blossomed into a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished Memaw. Hallo departed this world on August 31, 2024, in Olive Branch, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories.

Hallo's life was a celebration of family and laughter. She was married to her beloved husband, Larry Schroerlucke, for an astonishing 54 years. Their love story began with youthful exuberance, as they navigated life's joys and challenges together. It is said that their journey was marked by a memorable mishap when a young Hallo attempted to drive Larry's newly returned Corvette without quite mastering the gears, a humorous incident that only endeared her more to him.

Hallo's vibrant personality shone through in everything she did. As a dedicated insurance agent for Clay and Land, she brought the same energy and warmth to her career as she did to her home. Family gatherings were often lively occasions filled with her delicious cooking, especially her renowned chicken and dumplings. The holidays at her home were filled with love and joy, epitomized by her whimsical Halloween birthday parties, where her comedic imitation of a chicken never failed to elicit laughter.  Hallo was a devout Christian who shared God with every chance she could.

A proud mother, Hallo found her greatest joy in her children, daughter Michelle Brandon (Tim) and son Kenny Schroerlucke (Dr. Nicholas Schroerlucke). Her adoration extended to her granddaughters, Ashley Carpenter (Chris Reifers) and Katie Echols (Justin), and her great-grandchildren: Gavin Cozart, Brycen Gainey, Levi Carpenter, Waylon Carpenter, Haven Echols, Kinsley Echols, and Kelsey Coffey, and her sister Linda Ketelaar (Harry). Each one was a treasure, and Hallo served as a steadfast supporter and loving figure in their lives, always encouraging and celebrating their achievements.

Hallo's boundless spirit was balanced by her creative pursuits. She delighted in making crafts, composing poems, and arranging beautiful flower displays. Her love for her dogs was another testament to her nurturing character, reflecting her deep-seated compassion and affection for all living beings.

As we remember Hallo, we also honor the legacy of her sister Sandy Young, who left this world on the same day, and her loving parents, JB and Tina (Wilson) Stout, along with her step-father Col. Dave McNeely, who raised her as his own. They undoubtedly welcomed her into their arms, and the love they shared continues to resonate through Hallo's family.

A visitation for Hallo will be held on September 5, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, and burial at 3:00 PM at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Southaven, Mississippi.

Hallo Jean Schroerlucke's vibrant life was one filled with laughter, love, and boundless warmth. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A true matriarch, she exemplified the best of what it means to be family-oriented, fun-loving, and full of life. Her memory will forever remain a guiding light for her loved ones, reminding them to embrace each day with joy and gratitude.
