Genie Robinson, a beloved homemaker and devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family in Jackson, TN. Born on April 27, 1949, in Memphis, TN, Genie was a shining light to all who knew her. Her journey spanned 75 beautiful years, marked by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
As a high school sweetheart, Genie met her husband, Gary Robinson, at a young age, and their love blossomed into a 63-year partnership filled with shared dreams and countless memories. Together, they were partners in crime, navigating life hand in hand and creating a rich tapestry of experiences that included watching TV, enjoying camping and fishing trips, and tending to their home and lawn together. The simple pleasure of riding through old neighborhoods to witness the changes over the years brought joy to their hearts and laughter to their days.
Genie's career was as a homemaker, where she truly excelled as the heart and soul of her family. Her home was always filled with warmth and love, nurtured by her caring spirit and her servant heart. She was known for her generosity, thoughtfulness, and loyalty, traits that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Genie's beautiful voice and energetic presence filled her home with joy, and her organized nature and common sense helped to create a nurturing environment in which her family thrived.
Aside from being a dedicated wife and mother, Genie was immensely proud of her children: Kristy (Bill) Willis, Dawn (Bobby) Griffin, and Gary Robinson, Jr. She poured her love into her grandchildren, Ashley (Shane) Lowe and Carter Willis, and found delight in her great-grandchildren, Jade and Rylee. Genie's love extended beyond her immediate family to her niece, Leslie Ann Gurley, nephew, Chad VanStory, and a host of other family and friends who were touched by her generosity and care.
Genie leaves this world to meet in grace her mother Rubye Armstrong, father and mother-in-law Tom and Lorraine Robinson, and her grandson James Austin Hodges.
Her accomplishments were many, but none brought her greater pride than her family. Genie was actively involved in their lives, serving as PTA president, cultivating a stunning garden, and nurturing houseplants that mirrored her own vibrant spirit.
Genie will also be remembered for her deep faith; she loved Jesus and held her beliefs close to her heart. Her wisdom and kindness will continue to inspire her family and friends in the days to come.
A graveside service to honor Genie Robinson's remarkable life will be held privately.
Though Genie has departed from this earthly realm, her legacy of love and devotion will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered as a domestic goddess, a caring mother, and a friend to all.
