Eugene Franklin “Gene” King Jr., 74, of Southaven, MS passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. King, a retired armored truck electrician and Army Veteran, leaves behind his wife, Tashia King; a step-son, Brian Covington; and two daughters, Kimberly Smith and Heather Bandy. Mr. King also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Danielle Covington, Bryce Vanderhook, Timothy Vanderhook, Collin Vanderhook, Jade Chappell, Jacob Chappell, Kayla Covington, and Haley Covington and three great grandchildren, Briley Covington, Maddy Covington and Amelia Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Modell King.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road in Memphis.
