Ed Chism,
81, of Horn Lake, MS, was born June 24, 1936 in Etowah, AR and passed away November 25, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven, MS. He was a contractor and former member of the Antique Car Club. He had two antique cars in the Johnny Cash movie, “Walk the Line” and was the inspiration for John Grisham’s book, “The Painted House.” Mr. Chism was a good artist and furniture maker. He was a great singer and inspired many people through his karaoke. Mr. Chism was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by four sisters, Barbara Falcinelli, Hedy Triplett, Ernesteen “Tina” Marsh, and Elwanda Stottlemire; many nieces and nephews; ex-wife, Sandra Chism; stepdaughter, Susan Hinckley; grandson, Christopher “Deuce” Hinckley, Jr.; and two great grandsons, Brantley and Mason Hinckley. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie Chism; one sister, Jerry Deal; and one brother, John R. Chism. Burial, with military honors, will be Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, TN.Burial, with military honors:
