Josephina Angelina Zorzoli

April 7, 1942 — January 31, 2017

Josephina Angelina Zorzoli

(74), a minister, a mother, and a friend, lived her life to the fullest in pursuit of Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Josephina began ministry in 1980 with opened doors and an open heart to those in need.  If a congregant needed guidance, she would be there teaching the Word of God – revealing the love

of Jesus as the true north.  If a neighbor needed help, she would be there with an outstretched arm, an open hand, and a generous spirit.  And if a member of her community suffered an injustice, she was there championing the wronged and ensuring the injustice would not happen again.

Josephina’s ministry, her faith, and the way she treated anyone she met, especially the down-trodden and less fortunate, reflected who she was as a person because she knew no other way.

In her daily life – to her family, her neighbors, and with strangers – Josephina was a source of strength and a beacon of common sense.  She listened and advised those who sought her wise counsel and she encouraged and celebrated her family’s successes as if they were her own.

She will be missed tremendously and will be remembered by all for her commitment to

Tikkun Olam

– repairing the world and making it a better place for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Josephina graduated from Rhema Bible Training College (1980) with a degree in Pastoral Studies and from the Universityof Memphis (1992) with a B.A. in International Relations.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American-Jewish Joint Distribution Committee.

Josephina is preceded in death by parents: Joseph Waymon and Betty June Zorzoli; sister Patricia Ann Zorzoli (5) and great granddaughter: Isabella Angelina Zorzoli-Watkins (2).
