Don E. Rainey
was born December 14, 1952 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Floyd and Mary Lou Rainey. He passed December 3, 2016 after a long illness. He was a graduate from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Don was well-known in his area of expertise, preventive/predictive maintenance and vibration analysis. He became an expert in his field with a career spanning decades working for companies like W.R. Grace and Kimberly-Clark in Memphis. His last position with Azima DLI offered him the opportunity to lend his mind to a variety of industries from steel mills to the defense industry. Don is survived by his daughter Jessica Lyons, as well as her husband John and two grandsons, Jack and Tate of Southaven. He also leaves behind a sister LeeAnne Craven and a father, Floyd Rainey. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Street Rainey. A memorial service honoring Don will be held Saturday, December 10 at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven, MS. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the same location. The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Baptist Trinity Hospice of Collierville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee or to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
