David Allen Henderson, 75, of Horn Lake, Mississippi, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019, at his residence from metastatic melanoma. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 95 Woodland Trace South in Southaven, MS. Twin Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
David was born on June 23, 1943 in Glen Allan, MS, but has been a lifelong resident in Greenville, MS. He was always big on outdoor activities. David loved to hunt and fish, but he also enjoyed almost anything that allowed him to take in the fresh air of the outdoors. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. David was also a salutatorian of his gradating class of River Side High School, 1961. He was always someone you could count on and look up to. He did everything he could to help a person in need. Although David enjoyed many things in life, he loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. them. He would have done anything for his sweet grandchildren. David cherished all the memories and laughter shared with his friends and family and will be truly missed.
David Allen Henderson leaves behind his loving wife, of 56 years, Betty Jo Henderson; son, Mark (Christy) Henderson; daughter, Cindy (David) Henderson Garner; sister, Betty Henderson; grandchildren, Tony (Ashley) Garner, Grant (Courtney) Garner; Shelby Henderson, Walker Henderson, and Chloe Henderson; great grandchildren, Christian, James, Avery and Emma Garner.
David Allen Henderson is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Gladys McCool Davis; parents, Frank and Louise Davis Henderson, brothers, John Henderson, Randy Henderson, and Dean Henderson; sisters, Audrey Henderson, Ginny Henderson, Carolyn Moss, Cheryl Knox, and Frances “Fran” Vail.
