Danny R. Blount passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the age of 65 in Southaven, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 05, 2023 at 11:00am-1:00pm at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Road East, Southaven, MS, 38671.
Danny Blount was born on May 12, 1957, to Joe and Mary Blount in West Memphis, Arkansas. To his close friends and family, he was affectionately known as “Big Dan,” but his grandchildren called him “Big Daddy.” Danny was everyone’s biggest encourager and supporter, and he was the most giving person. His family had an inside joke that he would “give you the shirt off his back” if you needed it.
Danny loved music, sports, and all things Italian. His love language was food, and he loved to cook and entertain. He coached both baseball and softball for years, even starting his own softball league for his daughters, because he loved to mentor youth through sports. But of all these passions, he loved his grandchildren the most.
Danny leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Blount, four children: Mandy Blount-Fuchs (Matt), Marie Blount, Mary Ann Blount, Danny Robert Blount II (Jessica); three grandchildren: Morgan Ising, McKenna Blount, and Brooklyn Blount; two siblings: Steve Blount (Belinda), Rhonda Brewer (Gunter).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Blount, and brother, Joe Blount.
