Daniel Lewis Shelton, affectionately known as Danny, departed this world on November 12, 2024, in Southaven, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy that vibrantly colored the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on May 20, 1971, Danny embraced life with an extraordinary spirit, embarking on a journey filled with passion, laughter, and love.

From his early days studying forestry at Arkansas State University, nurturing his love of hunting and outdoors to his career as both a barbeque pitmaster and a ramp agent for Continental Airlines, Danny's path was paved with diverse experiences that encapsulated his larger-than-life personality. He became not just a master of the grill, but a connoisseur of culinary delights, devoted to spreading joy through his cooking. Those who savored his barbeque or tasted his signature hot sauce, including the celebrated Barnyard Pit Powder, experienced the essence of his unyielding spirit. He relished the moments spent in the company of friends and family, forever eager to share his love for food and impart his cooking knowledge.

Danny’s heart was equally as expansive as his talents, propelling him across the globe with his beloved wife, Donna Shelton. Together, they traveled from Mardis Gras in New Orleans to Oktoberfest in Germany and beyond, creating cherished memories alongside their stepchildren, Brandy and Lilly, delighting in life's richness. There were boundless adventures filled with laughter, exquisite dinners, and moments of family unity, underscoring his belief that food brings people together. His grandkids—Cody, Brayden, Elizabeth, and Caroline—were his pride and joy, as he showered them with affection and stories that would live on long after his time.

His life was punctuated by the love he lavished on his spirited furbabies, Maggie and Rooster, who were a testament to his nurturing nature. Danny had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished. He found immense joy in feeding people, a reflection of his belief that a shared meal could forge bonds that transcended all barriers.

Danny is survived by his devoted wife, Donna, who stood by his side through every grill flame and every globetrotting adventure. His presence will be sorely missed by his grandmother Louise Lewis, stepchildren, Brandy and Lilly, and his beloved sister, DeeDee Shelton, nephew Tyler, along with his cousin, Brian Keith Shelton, who shared in the warmth of his companionship. The laughter and love he exuded will continue to echo through the lives of his grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
